The M240i/M340i/M440i boast impressive performance and style, but their stock intake system falls short, featuring an airbox and intake resonator that produce uninspiring sounds. Dinan’s intake system corrects this with a semi-open design that flows 58% more air, boosting top-end power, throttle response, and sound.
To achieve these gains, the lower airbox has been enlarged to accommodate a 40% larger custom filter. Extensive testing led to the addition of secondary inlets, strategically placed to increase airflow without raising turbo inlet temperatures. The result is improved throttle response, +9 WHP / +8 ft-lbs torque, and enhanced turbo and BOV sounds.
